Tuesday December 20th, 2022 we honoured the commitment, success and longevity of our Head Coach, Jamie Arcand.

Joining Coach Arcand for our presentation was GM of the Chiefs Shawn Dunbar, players from the 2018 Schmalz Cup Championship Team, followed by members of the Arcand family- wife Jen, daughter Samantha, Son in law Geoff and grandson Miles. Long term Assistant Coach Jay Hinze was also in attendance for the presentation.

One of the hallmarks of a good franchise is stability of leadership and Coach Arcand has been the rock that, since 2014-2015 season, the Lakefield Chiefs have built their successes on.

Tenure notes since 2014-2015:

6 out of 8 seasons have come with a winning record, which stands overall at 188-102-10, on top of that, a winning playoff record at 48-35

Arcand was awarded the Kit Carson in 2017 for his service and commitment

Led the team to back-to-back Cougar Cup championships in 2017 & 2018

In 2018, Coach Arcand led the team to the ultimate prize in Junior C hockey – The Schmalz Cup. That year he also took home Coach of the Year honours

This season he’ll be added to the Don Dunford HOF wall, right here at the Lakefield Smith CC. Thank you, coach Jamie for your leadership over the past 300 games and we’re looking forward to the next 300.
