Balanced Attack Leads Chiefs Past Raiders in 6–3 Victory

The Graham Carpentry Lakefield Chiefs hit the road Friday, September 26th, to face the only other undefeated team in the PJHL Todd Division, the Napanee Raiders. In a hard-fought matchup, the Chiefs handed Napanee their first loss of the season with a 6-3 victory.

Lakefield jumped out early in the first period with back-to-back goals. Lucas Legault opened the scoring, assisted by Ethan Yantha and Matthew D’Angelo, followed by Charlie Blewett, who buried one with help from Will Corcoran and Teagan Hartnett.

Napanee cut the lead to 2-1 early in the second, but the Chiefs answered quickly. D’Angelo restored the two-goal cushion with an unassisted marker, before Owen Thake added another, assisted by Jack Ryan and D’Angelo, to make it 4-1.

The Raiders pushed back in the third, closing the gap to 4-2, but Ryan struck on the power play from D’Angelo and Corcoran to extend the lead. Napanee tallied once more, but Cormac Clowater sealed the win with an empty-net goal, assisted by R.J. Jackson and Brayden D’Innocenzo.

Goaltender Sacha O’Brien stood tall for the Chiefs in net, turning aside 27 of 30 shots.

Next up, the Chiefs head to Frankford on Monday, September 29th, to face the Huskies at 7 p.m.
